There is much ripe fertility symbolism in the Sukkot rituals. The long, quivering lulav (palm branch) speaks for itself. One year we invited friends from different religious backgrounds to bring and share a verse, song, piece of art or teaching with them that has to do with seeds......seeds of the future, seeds of creativity, seeds that have been planted and are awaiting harvest - real or conceptual... Its nice to invited everyone to bring fruits that are full of seeds, or which have unusual seeds and to admire and explore them as part of this moment. Sukkot runs a nice long week - theres lots of room for different rituals for different days. |
