many rituals and practices inherent in our tradition that can both heal and enrich us and
the people we serve. We will integrate these practices with the principles of gestalt,
chaplaincy, traditional and complementary medicine.
Interactive, creative learning methods will prevail - expect no

Our ancestors spent a lifetime studying Talmud. Now, you can
jump into this sea of legend, lore and law without previous background or experience with
the Talmud or Hebrew. Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz teaches, "If the Bible is the cornerstone
of Judaism, then the Talmud is the central pillar supporting the entire spiritual edifice.
In many ways, the Talmud is the most important book in Jewish culture."
Using the renowned Steinsaltz edition (English) of the Talmud, we
will discover its basic structure--the way it explores ideas. But most importantly, we
will spend most of our time wrestling with select portions of the text itself in a
quintessential Jewish learning experience. Participants will learn the skills necessary to
continue studying on their own. Texts will be provided.

Rabbi Marcia Prager: The Mystical Menorah
$26
The image: Moshe ascends and enters into the swirling mist
that envelopes Mount Sinai, a mist that radiates like fire.
In a vision he sees the pattern of the Menorah.
When he returns to be among the people a Menorah is built,
a masterpiece beat out of a single great ingot of pure gold.
Jewish mystical tradition teaches that the pattern of the Menorah can be read as a
"higher-reality map" a replica of the pathways through which the original light
of creation continues to infuse creation with holiness.
To engage in the "Work of the Menorah," is to venture as a mystic voyager into
the depths of our own most intimate reality map, and realign our inner selves with the One
Self . Rabbi Marcia Prager is a master teacher of Jewish mysticism, known internationally
for guiding individuals brilliantly and safely into Jewish mystical depths.
She is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, heads the ALEPH Smichah
Program for the Alliance for Jewish Renewal and is a regular faculty member at Elat
Chayyim and THe New York Open Center.

mean even more to you when combined with "Reb Goldie's" guidance in exploring
the themes of community and environmentalism through the lens of Jewish spirituality.
*We'll construct and meditate in our sukkah on the beautiful Kripalu grounds
*Study through interactive and artistic techniques the profound contemporary and
traditional Jewish sources on the environment and the mind/body/spirit connections in the
depths of our tradition.
