who can help me qualify to teach adult education? We Answered:
Do you want to teach at a university or community college? If so, then most places require a Masters or Doctorate so contact a couple of schools and see what they want as far as qualifications. It may very well be education and work experience. If you are looking to work at a private facility then contact the company and ask what experience they require. An easy way to do that is simply by looking up their job search page on their website.
Good Luck!

How do you go about teaching Adult Education classes? We Answered:
Ask the local community college about it. They will be able to let you know if they need additional instructors, and what credentials are needed. If there is no local community college, then research the GED study guides to see what candidates are expected to know, and then advertise as a private tutor.
Good luck!

I am teaching an enlgish as a second language adult education class 'how to book a flight"?We Answered:
First you need to spell English right. They would ask... Where are you going?.......What date are you wanting to go?........When are you coming back?........What class..First class coach...etc?. They also need to know how you intend to pay...what credit card, check, cash etc. Upon check in, your passenger needs to have their bags checked and know how big a bag they can use as carry on. I think that would be all of the important things. They might want to know if you are using frequent flyer miles or any other perks.Jeremy Said:
Can anyone tell me about teaching adult basic education? We Answered:
Hi,Many ABE teachers are working under a grant-funded progam called WIAII also known as the workforce investment act. In many programs the teachers work for community colleges, universities, or nonprofit organizations. Your work would center around teaching the adults basic educational skills such as reading, writing/grammar, math, civics, etc. with the ulimate goal of getting the student to achieve their GED. Students are tested for progress and teachers are held accountable for ensuring their class has good attendance and that the students are gaining in their knowledge among other measures of accountability. In Texas and most if not all other states a licence is not neccessary to teach ABE. Any adult with a bachelor's degree can teach ABE but you will have mandatory professional development. There are also ALC adult literacy councils and nonprofits whereby you can teach ABE in a setting that is not funded by WIAII BUT, in most cases those programs either do not pay instructors (volunteers) or pay very little. So, its basically - more accountability, more pay. Less accountability, less pay. Your choice about what setting you like. It can be rewarding but also challenging because adults who are in ABE programs are often plagued with problems like learning disabilities, poverty, behavioral or criminal activity, mental illness, etc. Your job would be to motivate them to want to change and, of course, thats a difficult process. You wont be able to help them all but you will be able to make a differance. Be sure to network with others and keep learning and reading resources to help you grow as you go along. Good Luck!

reasons why adult education should be taught, problems to adult education teaching and solutions to them?We Answered:
Reasons: A more educated society is generally thought to be a good thing.Problems: Adults have jobs (usually) that compete for time. Many have second language issues, learning disabilities, low self esteem, and a less flexible learning curve.
Solutions: One on one interaction. Curriculum and materials based on and designed for adult interests. Counseling and job placement services.
