What jobs other then teaching can you use an elementary education degree for?We Answered:
Depending on what area of the country you live in, you could be a highly paid nanny. Families always want to hire a person with a degree in education or other child-related fields.Gladys Said:
What other jobs besides teaching are available for someone with a Masters in Elementary Education? We Answered:
You can get into the administrative side of education as a Principal/Vice Principal, or, depending on your exact courses taken, you could get into counseling and help students determine what they are ready for once they are set to make the transition to Middle School/Junior High School. At the extreme spectrum, you might also want to apply for Tutor.Com which hires experts in their field to answer questions online. Librarian may also be an option. You could also try the military, as they tend to look for degrees, not focus so much on the discipline, since they have a vast array of jobs for officers.Bernard Said:
What other jobs can a person with a bachelor degree in elementary education perform other than teaching? We Answered:
I see this often so I guess many people get burned out teaching or get peeved at the lower end salaries. A B.A. degree opens doors, period. It places you miles ahead of High School graduates and GED holders. Some possibilities though are:Guidance Counselor
Administrator, Principal, Vice-Principal
Coach
Consultant
Librarian

My girlfriend just graduated with Elementary Education degree, what other jobs could she qualify for?We Answered:
I think an education degree is applicable to many areas of the work force. Those with education degrees are well equipped to become teachers, of course, but also corporate trainers working for the Human Resources departments of large to medium size companies. She can also apply to third party academic enhancement centers like Sylvan. Bottom line though is that a degree of any kind is better than no degree at all. I just interviewed a slew of candidates for a technical analyst position who had varying degrees from music, history, elementary education, and political science. Although the degree has an emphasis, the other courses she has taken can be highlighted if their relevance applies to the position for which she is interested. Degreed professionals are also looked upon favorably for supervisory type positions. Good luck on the job hunting.
