Terry Said:

How can I teach in Highschool ?

We Answered:

You need a degree in education + you will have to student teach (you do that for free) for a semester. You need to go back to college and get a BA in education with a major in computer science or math. No easy way out, you must earn a degree to become a teacher.

Larry Said:

Can I obtain a California Teaching Credential On-line?

We Answered:

Not yet. CSUN will begin soon offering classes for a Master's in ELPS, which I believe has a credential embedded for Administration. For teaching there is some research and collaborative work which I don't think can be replicated on-line. But the demand for credentialled teachers is great so this may change.

Have you thought about becoming a district intern? Local school districts will give you a credential and allow you to go to work as a teacher while you complete some after-school course work. Takes two years tops. Check it out with each district. Anteolpe Valley has it, as does LAUSD.

Jacob Said:

How do I pick a Secondary Teaching Credential program?

We Answered:

I am tempted to say a quick - it doesn't matter..

but... at my school we have a history of hiring UCLA candidates. The school has partnered with our district, and our school is a placement school where quite a few from UCLA (and USC for that matter) have been assigned their student teaching.

You may have an easier time finding a job if you look into which schools your district partners with. Go to the district you would like to work for, and ask their recruitment office about this. couldn't hurt.

Also, find out how the online school assigns student teaching, it seems you dont want to be impersonal at this point.

good luck!
