Primary teaching advice needed please? We Answered:
Okay, when I did my PGCE to become a primary teacher it was the most stressful year of my life! My first placement was okay, and actually quite enjoyable, but during my second I had an awful class and felt like I was spending all my time trying to get them to listen and behave, and not actually teaching them anything. My final placement the children were quite nice but I had a horrible teacher, and nothing I did was ever good enough. In fact on one occasion I asked her advice about a lesson, she told me what she thought I should do and how I should do it, and then after the lesson, which she was horrid about, when I told her I was just trying to follow her advice she told me I was being a baby who obviously couldn't do anything on her own! I used to go home every night and cry to my then boyfriend, now husband, about how horrible it was. In the end I had to accept that no matter how hard I tried to impress her, it wouldn't work, so all I could do was stick it out for the 6 or so weeks I was there. At the time I used to think, 'If this is what teaching is like I'll never cope!' But once you have your own class things are a lot better. Even if you have a difficult class you still have the freedom to try different behaviour strategies, move the tables around, spend whole lessons going over rules etc, which you just can't do while on placement as you feel there is someone breathing down your neck all the time, you have to stick to the timetable, you don't have time to miss certain lessons out, etc. So keep going, battle through, and remember that unfortunately there are teachers out there who are not helpful to students, who seem to feel like they should already know what they're doing, who think they're just a nuisance and so on. So it might be the case that whatever you do you can't impress yours because they've already made their mind up that you're not good enough. That has nothing to do with you - they're just one of those people. I came out of my placement thinking I was the worst teacher in the world because of the way that teacher spoke to me and made me feel, but then I went on to do some supply and found I was being asked back for more days because I was impressing people. And then I got a job in a Year 1 class and all of the children made a lot of progress and at the end of the year I got a lot of really nice comments from parents thanking me for all I'd done for their kids. So however you're made to feel by nasty people who really shouldn't be working with children if they can't be nice to adults, you said yourself that you're dedicated and passionate and that will come out on top once you have your own class.Alma Said:

How can I be a good and effective teacher to lazy students? We Answered:
Find out what motivates them. Are they into books, cars, what? When you find out their interest, try working it in somehow to what you need to teach.
My son has Autism, so I deal with issues like this everyday. You have to find their "price" so to speak. If it's cars that flip their switch, then maybe as a reward...showing a short film about cars, for example.

I want to start a Nursery and primary school in small town in India. Can I be guided in this venture, How ?We Answered:
Well regarding your first question a) you should go for local teachers instead of resourcing them . I think people who know local dialects can teach children better specially in indian villages.b) syllabus depends upon which board you want your school to affiliate with e.g. central board of school examination ( CBSE) , For that you will need necessary permission from education department of that state.c) As told resourcing will not be necessary you better go for local teachers. All ready many teachers are sitting un-employed so that wont be a problem.d) If you are looking for advanced education then you should go for computers , lab equipments, sports and off course good library. My honest advice is to visit some rural school in india and take first hand information.
