Does anyone have a good Geography or History policy for a primary school that I can base mine on?

We Answered:

You can download school policies from the net. If you type in 'primary school History policy examples' or somehing similar into Google I'm sure you'll find something you can change to suit you. I did this with our PSHE and drugs education policies. Hope you find something

Charlie Said:

I have a PGCE in 11-16 Geography Teaching with QTS, could I convert and do my NQT in Primary School instead?

We Answered:

Its always useful to have lost of qualities when becoming a teacher. Especially a primary school teacher cause its one of the most difficult places to get into as the competition is so hot. I used to work as a adviser for the TDA but i'm afraid my knowledge is very rusty. I would call them and they will be able to give you all the advice you need.

The number is 0845 6000 991

Good luck in your career in teaching

Should I Do Primary Or Secondary Teaching?

We Answered:

My daughter is training at uni at the mo to be a Primary teacher, they get a broad spectrum of all the subjects they have to teach. If you choose to be a Secondary teacher, you would need to do a degree in your chosen subject, then a years PGCE training.
If you choose the secondary path as far as I am aware you could then teach in primary, but I dont think you could do it the other way round.
Would you rather work with little people or teenagers? Thats the choice you would have to make really.
Good Luck in whatever you decide.
