There has been a shortage of male Primary teachers for many,many years as considered not an area for men ! Sometimes the odds are 10:1,sometimes 13:1 against men.Positions are filled on ability,so not an area to bank on being appointed as you are male ! There is a school of thought that says that schools are more likely to appoint women due to Child Protection issues,with "new" teachers despite everybody having to have CRB checks.This is not official,but I have heard anecdotal evidence,sad but true.Deanna Said:
