Primary Teaching?We Answered:
Im not sure about Ireland/Northern Ireland, but quite a few people are not accepted at interview first time. A good tip is to swat up on current educational buzz words such as assessment is for learning, and get experience. The course wont be that hard if you really want it (and feel you have the skills to work with children :)Im not sure what 415 and c1 are (im from scotland) Do you have a degree?
If you come to scotland, saas will pay your tuition fees and we get student loans which you dont have to pay back until you are earning either 15 or 20 grand, i cant remember which.
Dont let one interview get in the way of your dream!
Good luck! :)

What does primary teaching involve? We Answered:
I'm a primary school teacher. I've been teaching for several years in a classroom at junior school level. Teaching is full on! Teaching is not just about teaching as there are so many roles you take on. You have your daily routine but things don't always go the way you planned so you have to be flexible and adaptable. You won't know what it's like until you have a class of your own! You will make mistakes and you will learn as you go.Having said that, teaching is also very rewarding. Just a few days ago a girl in my class told me that she will miss me next year and I could see the warmth in her eyes when she said it (she isn't one to generally say cutesy things). Little achievements by individual students will excite you! It's like they are your own children and you feel so proud of them.
If you love kids then that's a great start! Teaching has its moments but it's also a lot of fun.
I just want to add that I teach in a fairly rough area. You will encounter SOME difficult students and parents who will test your patience and more. The way you learn to deal with them will provide you with a sense of strength as you learn to manage. If there are no challenges in your job I would think it would be a boring and mundane place to be at. You will face challenges no matter where you teach.

If you want to be a school teacher, you need to have a B.Ed.degree in a school subject - maths, history, etc.If you are looking to teach toddlers, you can teach in a play school / nursery / kg classes in a school, for which you need the requisite diploma [teachers training course].
