You may want to consider going to the website for job openings to just see what is open. You may find a few jobs open for history but like some else has said that if you don't coach it will be hard to get the job. My first major was history and I wanted to teach high school, but when I was told that I probably would not get a job I changed my major. Have you considered teaching history at the middle school level? I have noticed that many history teachers at middle school are not involved in coaching. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

web sites to post a resume to find a secondary school teacher's job any where in australia? We Answered:
Only some private schools advertise for teachers - all other appointments are made by the Department of Education in the various state from their pool of qualified teachers. Its unlikely that you will get a private school position with only a years experience and no face to face interview so your best bet is to contact the state (that you wish to move to) education department and see whether your qualifications are acceptable. In some states you have to sit a face to face meeting in order to be scaled (the scaling affects the priority of your placement)Natalie Said:
Is it hard to get a teaching job with a PhD?We Answered:
I hear that experience and higher Education degrees are a tough sell as far as classroom teachers go. It means higher wages and likely a threat to others with lesser credentials.I've been mulling over starting a PhD program and have been told to take it slow, as I want to stay in K-8 teaching.
Why not look at consultancy or administration? That will be my intention in a few years.

Is secondary school teaching in Ireland a hard/bad job?We Answered:
my best buddy is a secondary school teacher, granted he has a couple of laughs, but he said if he'd his time all over again, he probably wouldn't do it, a thankless job. But he said there is one or two studens that do make it worth while, but only sometimes.
