How should I teach this lesson to my 2nd grade class? We Answered:
Concentrate first on the vowel sound, as that seems to be the main object of the lesson. Give other examples of words that have the long sound of "o", such as hippo, piano, potato, etc. Ask them to give you examples of words that have the sound, and write their words on the board and discuss them. Be prepared to get examples of words where the long "o" sound is spelled differently, and be ready to explain that. (Boat, coal, float, old, hole, etc.)Kids like learning neat things about language, such as how we use those phrases, so try to think of a short but funny story for each expression. That will help them to remember. It does seem to be a lot to ask them to write what the expression means. I would have them draw a picture that shows the expression being used and ask them to write a little about the picture.
I hope this is of some help.

Help! I need to prepare a 5 minute teaching lesson for a job interview with Teach for America. Any ideas? We Answered:
Do a PowerPoint presentation on something. Go to Google advanced search, and in the filetype, select PowerPoint (ppt), then type in your desired topic to teach about. It will bring up many pre-made PowerPoint presentations. That way, alot of your work is done for you :) .George Said:
How to teach a proper music lesson? We Answered:
Well, you're going to have to teach them the music notes first, like, how to read them. Use "Empty Garbage Before Dad Flips" or "Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit", and "There's always a FACE in the space" to help your student remember. I wouldn't move on to actually playing the instrument until the student knows what the notes are, because then you'll be constantly telling your student what the notes are, and you'll be really frustrated. When your student starts to play, make give them some easy songs that they may know to keep them interested - Kids tend to think that all they're allowed to play is classical music, and most kids aren't all that interested in Classical music.
I think have them keep a practice journal - have them write down when they practice and what they played. Then you'll know if what your doing is worth it.
Another thing a teacher did with me was she got me to write down my goals for that semester. That way, you and the student have something to aim for, and if they reach that goal, reward them.
Don't be critical. If you are always highlighting what they're doing wrong and not telling them what they're doing right, then they're going to feel like they can't do anything right. I'm still a student, and I'm just tellng you what worked for me. I had a teacher that was not organised and did not bring me any new music for the entire year. I was really bored. :-(
The last thing I'm going to say is so be harsh, but don't be soft. Be assertive, and don't let the student walk all over you.

I have to teach a remedial math lesson next week to my fellow college classmates? We Answered:
Common math errors include copying the problem wrong, wrong computation (not memorizing facts correctly), or skipping operational steps. You could pick one of these. The best way to teach teachers is to actually walk-them through the wrong and corect procedures, as if they were students. It is better to have college students do it than it is to have them just hear you tell them what to do.Dan Said:
