Guitar trouble, help pls, just started teaching kids guitar?

We Answered:

I would be reluctant to recommend a junior guitar. There are shorter scale guitars, the Rickenbacker type for example. The answer is for them to go to a music shop and try different guitars out for size, there is a huge variance. If he really has tiny hands, then it may be worth getting a smaller one, but in one or two years they will be having to buy a full size one.

Teaching guitar to kids?

When I was 8, my music teacher started me off with the Smoke on the Water?.. It is pretty easy as it is only played on the top string ( 0,3,5,0,3,6,5 ) It is pretty easy to remember and they will feel thrilled when they are able to learn it :)
