How to teach her to be still?

We Answered:

I have an "almost" four year old that reminds me alot of your little one. I found myself asking that question alot when he started to walk. I have come to the conclusion I need to relax and let him learn the way he enjoys. 2 year olds have a hard time paying attention to even the most interesting things at that age, 2 minutes seems about right for her. You are doing the right thing by singing songs, games, and rhymes. As she gets older she will be able to sit for longer periods and you will see her improve. Don't worry so much about how long she sits to go over flash cards and activity books, in three years she will be expected to sit more than a couple hours a day at a small desk while a teacher tries to encourage 15+ students to work on the same thing!
Let her learn through play and hands on activities. I feel that children like ours that have this kind of energy are destined to become something great. Give her the chance to do it her way! Best luck to you!

Any ideas for a 15 minute CLL (reception class) activity for a teaching interview?

We Answered:

Actually, take that phonics game and come up with three scenarios, each a bit more difficult than the first. Begin the 15 minute session "getting to know" your students by asking them some questions and see what responses you get. Hopefully that will trigger what level to go with for the next 13 minutes. Getting the students active in the lesson will win over the evaluators. Good luck.

activities for 3 year old kids for efl classes?

We Answered:

Here is a site with lesson plans for all ages:

There is a specific one with songs at:

This sounds like a great things to accomplish but you can also see results pretty quickly too. You might try using ways that all children learn languages. Use any tapes for children and picture books, maybe reading to them or using pictures (like flashcards?) and talking about the item- size, color, shape, etc. To help them learn the item and other adjectives.

Why are we teaching our children to be dependent and weak?

We Answered:

Have you ever heard the term "Nanny State"? American kids are not only being taught to be complacent they are being taught not to competitive. US schools are socialists training grounds & that's almost worst than terrorist training grounds.

Yolanda Said:

What all activities and teaching methods should I use to teach phonics to a group of children of age 3-4 years?

We Answered:

If it worked with your son, it will probably work with other children. Give it a shot! :)

I would also highly recommend using songs to teach the letters and sounds.
