I have a few general ideas.(1) Try to get a curriculum with an online component to it. Online activities often have multimedia components that can help hold student attention better.
(2) For this same multimedia idea,. for any unit you are studying in the curriculum you have, write the publisher to see if there is an online series that goes with it., Many curricula today have optional online components, and some are free to owners of the textbooks, just for the asking: when you phone the publisher, they give you a lengthy pass code, and you enter it in the proper sequence to gain access.
(3) If you have a color printer, that can be helpful as well. If there are visual impairments, make sure that all materials printed are high-contrast, and enlarge them before printing.
