Do I need to go to college to learn how to write software or work for a company in their IT department? We Answered:
You can definitely learn how to write software on your own; however, you probably have a much better chance of employment -- and you definitely get a higher starting salary -- if you get a degree from an accredited university.Jeanette Said:

Anyone know some free software that can be used in the classroom to teach data collection and graphing? We Answered:
Not sure if this fits exactly what you're looking for, but I just played this game with my 3rd graders last week to review graphing and they loved it. It walks students step by step through data collection, making a line plot, translating that to a bar graph, and interpreting the graph.http://www.learnalberta.ca/content/me3us…
If that link does not work for some reason, just go to the Learn Alberta website and search Math 3: Under the Sea.
Hope that helps!

Has anyone used LeapFrog software with special needs children?? If you could you give me some feedback? We Answered:
I believe there are plenty more professional/effective software choices you could purchase than leapfrog.Leapfrog only goes so far, and this is something parents already have at home in most cases. Many of the games can be frustrating for special needs, the programs often have a timer which is not adjustable, and if the student doesn't go quickly, there are often cues (sound and visual) that the student "missed". Many special needs need additional time and motivation/encouragement to learn, and I think that many of these games will be frustrating for them.
I'd find something more suitable and appropriate for a classroom environment, with adjustable settings.
In a nutshell : Leapfrog - OK for home, not appropriate as part of a curriculum for school.

Teacher with 32 Bit Vista Home Prem. Seeks Affordable ($75) Bot/Spider Software to Search for Classroom Topix? We Answered:
Why would you want to do that when Google is built exactly for that?Try using the 'advanced search' that is located right next to the textbox. You will get better results and FASTER then any bot will get for you.
PLUS it's free.

I can tell you don't understand how a spider works. Google has already INDEXED thousands of websites. It can pull from an indexed database very fast.
A bot like you are talking about finds a website and then goes over it page by page looking for keywords. This can take forever on large websites. Imagine the time it would take for one spider to go over every possible page Yahoo has.
Follow my advice and use Google's advanced feature.

I wish I could tell you a better way but the best way we all have right now is using the search engines.
