ESL Certification for Teaching Overseas? We Answered:
In general, schools overseas ask for a degree (usually for the visa) in any subject along with a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate to show you can teach English. In practice almost any TEFL certificate will suffice for most first jobs. Most schools won't ask for or even know what a US teaching license is.The most common way to get the TEFL certificate either at a local school to you or online (see http://icalweb.com). Note that there's no single awarding body as each provider has their own course/certificate.

What organizations are trustworthy for getting TESOL certification and for placing one abroad to teach ESL?We Answered:
I took the TEFL Worldwide Prague course last October and have been teaching in Prague since. It was a great course, very thorough and intense but alot of fun too. The trainers are just dynamic. Alot of people from my course stayed in Prague but quite a few went on to teach in several different countries. They have great job guidance with binders filled with current job openings and contacts for English language schools all over the globe. I highly recommend them. www.teflworldwideprague.comBrett Said:

What is the best way to obtain a fast ESL teaching certification (i.e. short intensive programs).?We Answered:
Hi!I did a four week full time TESOL course half in Manchester and half in Spain. You can also do the course part time - a day a week or in the evenings. I would recommend trying to find the four weeks as the course is intensive. I would also recommend sticking to the well recognised Trinity College or Cambridge certificates. There are loads of courses you can do all over the country.
