Since it is a complete beginner class you will have to do a lot of modelling. You say it first and then get them to insert their details.when teaching vocabulary, use pictures and repeat the word again and again. Gradually adding bits of the sentence. start off with familair topics. Like family, hobbies,likes and dislikes hometown. etc. Teach them the sentence structures by drilling.

I know it's very daunting.I'm teaching conversational English and found it very difficult in the beginning. But one thing that I have found useful is to actually use a starter or beginner course book to help you get an idea of what students at this level need to know. You can adapt the writing and reading activities to use as speaking ones or support your speaking activites. I use New Headway elementary and intermediate. But books like Natural English, New English File elementary and Cutting Edge Elem have some really nice ideas. And the listening activies are greatt if you are not too sure about you own word stress or intonation. These are some of the websites I use sometimes

Oy; the scope of the question is a little beyond the space and time here, but I can give you some tips.

Essentially, you need to break the lessons into both themes and grammatical functions. I would recommend creating a series of modular lessons that follow the following structure:

Step 1: Introduce a simple conversation (that covers what it introduced in the section)
Step 2: Vocabulary, broken into nouns, verbs, adjectives, phrases, etc.
Step 3: Integrated conversation: have a simple conversation about a module subject, and have three or four different words that could be used in the sentence. Go around the room and have two classmates perform the conversation, using different words for each group.
Step 4: Have a photo, ask specific questions about the photo that require students to fill in the blanks from the module
Step 5: Have students write a short paragraph about themselves, tying in the subject material being used.

This modularization can contain simple themes like:

Greetings
School
At the park
Going to the movies
Sports
Seasons
Pets

Most importantly, write a learning objective (a statement of what students should be able to do after completing the lesson) for each and every module.

This will make you stand out in the interview process.

Start by teaching students about professional resumes and the importance of them, give them a sample. Then

Pair the students up and give them a list of questions that they might encounter during an interview process. After a few minutes have them switch roles and then move around the room. It helps get you acclimated to talking to different people, with different accents, as not everyone in America speaks American English clearly. I am in a Speech class in college and our Speech instructor is going over interviews with us as well. He did this with us last week and next week we will do an interview with him. We have to make mock resumes and sit with him through an interview. Sitting with the other students who were new at this was a great help in preparing to speak with him. I hope this helps.
