Might anyone correct my letter, please? We Answered:
OK! Here you go..... Are you sure you want it to be perfect? It may seem that your English is too good to be true! Could be wise to make some mistakes.....Dear Sir/Madam,
I am an Italian Citizen: graduated in European Languages and Cultures. I wish to apply for a :::: grant from the European Commission for the year 2010/2011, within the .....Programme, and to spend a period in your Institute/Centre as an assistant.
As you may read in my curriculum vitae, I am a specialist of Spanish Language and Culture. After my degree, I carried out a four month training period in a Spanish educational centre, involved with European exchange projects, where I principally acted as a translator, didactical tutor, cultural and tourist programmes co-ordinator and placement manager.
My degree is essentially focused on teaching, and presently I am going to start a ..... assistantship in a Spanish public school, also studying about C.L.I.L. methodology and applications.
I am very interested in understanding different European Education systems and learning new methods and practices, particularly about teaching languages to adults as a way to promote mobility, especially in the European labour market. I think that in your institute, which I know is involved in other European projects, like Vetpro programmes, for example, I might help you in a variety of activities: tutoring, preparing didactic aid, translating, collaborating in projects co-ordination and development, interpreting and maintaining foreign contacts, and supporting the staff activities.
Experience in your centre would be a great opportunity for me to know directly, your way of life and culture, and improve my English, as well as gain professional knowledge, and acquire new skills and competences.
I hope you will consider my proposition. If you need further information, please ask. Yours faithfully,

which is the best method to teach a foreign language? (language methodology)? We Answered:
The above poster is correct; input + 1 is the best way. The theory is that students need to hear it (input) in order to learn it. But in order to learn more they must have new things just 1 small step above what they know. This way they are able to figure out the meanings of things and after receiving enough input they are then able to produce output; that is speaking, writing and communicating back.Without input the students cannot learn, because there is nothing. Most importantly, the input must be meaningful. To make it meaningful you must use words that they can understand and if necessary use visuals to help. The visuals are especially helpful for new words.

Can you check this text for me?We Answered:
It pretty good. It's missing "the" and "a" in places (prepositions are the hardest thing to translate into english) but it's certainly understandable. It just sounds like a translation without them. I didn't point them all out.Examples: are at (the) lecturers’
My line of thought is
as (a) or (the) title for my study.
Overall not bad.

Do I need a TEFL certificate if I already have a diploma as an English teacher? We Answered:
Dear Judith, here in my country you won't need anything else. Most people won't even know what the TEFL is. Anyone who speaks English can teach. The thing is getting a job that will provide you enough money to live comfortably. Another BIG huge is insecurity and the awful crime rates we have nowadays. It's just so depressing! Watch out every single step you take or you'll live experiences that are gonna make you hate my country.I am just telling you these things because I want to be ready and prepared for everything. Paraguay is a beautiful country; however, there are people who went to school but don't even know how to speak their own language and want to teach another. Try to get a job at the CCPA which is a well recognized institution. They normally hire foreigners. I guess they pay teacher 7 American dollars per hour and that's the most you could get in Asuncion, with or without degree. Sometimes they will be impressed by your resume but won't pay you more unless you're a "hottie". Or try Stael Rufinelli's institute where I am sure they will really value your degrees.
BUt don't despair! Perhaps you'll come and have the best experience in the world but believe me when I tell you, I don't have a peaceful life.
Wishing you the best!
