Will living in Japan and teaching for two years increase my chances of landing a teaching job back home?We Answered:
Yes. I find it strange that people don't care if you are any good at things as much as if you have had "experience" doing something. They may ask if you have experience but they never ask you if you are good at it.So , yes......with experience, you should even ask for a bit more salary......now you will be viewed as someone who not only has experience, but someone who is worldly and has worked GLOBALLY. You should take advantage of that one! Good Luck.

Japan teaching job...is a functional resume best?We Answered:
Actually, there is a great need of English teachers in Japan. You don't really have to have a teaching degree to teach there. You just have to be fluent in English - you don't have to be in Japanese. I used to live there so I knew many people that teach there. I think you should use your functional resume though. The Japanese system is a bit different than the Western system. To become a teacher, you need to have a degree in something (for Japanese being a Japanese teacher). So, I think that your resume with your degrees posted will help you out in the long run. My host sister over there (while I was a student, not working there) actually has a psychology masters degree and is now teaching English there. She is Japanese. So, I know it can be done over there. If you are looking for more programs that are seeking English Teachers over there I would suggest the programs listed below. I know of people that have been teachers for these programs and have loved it! Good Luck! You will love Japan!Oscar Said:
