As the article states, the higher female enrolment can be attributed to the problems in the black and Hispanic communities. When boys from these lower socioeconomic communities go to school, they are faced with a feminised school system - teachers are predominantly female, staff and administration are almost all female, curriculum is feminised, and traditional male traits are shamed. These boys likely have little support from home, few positive male role models in their lives, and then they get no support from school either. Welcome to the results of feminism.Why are women getting the more honors degrees at university? Because more women enrol in droves into easy Arts programs where getting high grades is a joke. Would women be doing equally well if they were required to study something challenging (computer science, engineering, physics, etc.)?
As for girls being better readers. It’s funny how boys who are homeschooled show little difference in reading skills from homeschooled girls. Could the current feminised curriculum in public schools have anything to do with it?
And on achievement vs. aptitude, Doreen Kimura a seasoned psychobiologist says this:
"We first must distinguish between aptitude and achievement. Throughout the school years, girls generally get better marks on most subjects, where achievement is tested, and often this has also been the case for mathematical subjects. However, when these same groups of males and females are tested on math aptitude, which may ask for solutions to problems not already rehearsed in the classroom, males get better scores."
So female achievement at school is not directly an indicator of aptitude but perhaps an indicator of how well women can memorise information.
