As a group fitness instructor, I'm getting bored with teaching Spinning. Any advice for making it more fun?

We Answered:

Try to simulate riding on the road. Follow a climbing sequence with a high RPM spin, allowing the legs to recover. I have seen fitness instructors make the mistake of treating a spin class like an aerobics class. If your mirror true riding skills, class attendees will benefit from the workout more. Try having the group work on their breathing technique. All riding/fitness is based on breathing above anything else. Also, emphasize each attendee find their ideal rhythm to make climbing easier. Once in a while you should et off the bike walking around observing riders heart rate, technique, bike fit in addition to motivating. also, try creating a game where you pass a stick light to attendees where they select a riding sequence (jumps, high spins, high tension or climbing). All of the above will help prevent injuries. Some riders that may just be starting make the mistake emulating spinning when going out on the road/off road. This also causes injuries on/off the bikes.

How do i make teaching tenses fun?

We Answered:

Well, I am a 16 year old high school and in my experience the biggest mistake teachers make is allowing their students to simply go through the motions. You know, write the sentence, look at the board, figure it out with thinking, and get the points from that annoying woman who won't shutup so I can get an A in this class. All your students are doing that. I really don't think you can make it fun with the learning process as much, but perhaps once they have learned it, you can give incentive for its mastery. Also, Chris's suggestion of having the lesson relate to the people is a good idea. My old English teacher did that. You know, on the test have *example* Alex was being quite the pest with her interminable complaining during Antigone. Then have them identify what you need. The students will be more interested.

How do i make guitar teaching more fun?

We Answered:

I agree with A & S..ytou have to find songs by bands/artists that they are interested in learning.

Do not dwell too much on scales..scales are boring and not musical.

Teach the majors.minors and perhaps a few 7th chords so your student can immediately begin strumming along to songs they love.

Find someway they can record themselves practicing. It's great fun to hear yourself play, plus you can hear what areas need improvement.

Best of luck.
