In my opinion, the degree only matters if the teacher wants it to. Yes, the classes they took for their masters degree have the potential of making them a better teacher, but in all truth, it's hard to tell the difference between those with and those without masters. The professional development seminars offered by the counties and ISD's can add more to the classroom than you realize.As a student teacher, I attended a seminar with my mentor teacher on differentiated instruction. The notes I took and handouts from the full day seminar that were given are still in my files. I refer back to them frequently.
On the other hand, a teacher who has been teaching a while, who went through the masters program long ago, and who chooses not to change much of anything may have the degree, but is not attending those seminars or updating their approach. I know of a teacher who still teaches everything lectures style (5th grade) and refuses to change. So, keep in mind that there are 2 sides to every story.

You're taking the wrong approach: YOU CAN generalize certain things by trending. Yes, every student is different and their needs are different, but if you see an emerging pattern, that is significant. If you go in thinking "it can only be tailored to one person at a time", then either:a) it isn't science, and not able to be replicated, and thus not worth doing a bacc thesis on, or
b) the act of tailoring (and the methods that you use TO tailor) which are able to be replicated, are the elements that need to be reliable and valid, with the results (positive) being seen as both.
