I want to teach. I defaulted on student loans. Any resources to help a single mom get back in school?

We Answered:

You need to go to http://www.loanconsolidation.ed.gov/
You can consolidate the loans you defaulted on, and after you do that you will be eligible for aid again. You can even take out new student loans. The process takes several weeks, so you need to get started asap. I promise you this is the truth, I had to help a friend do the same thing. Good luck!

suggest resources for new teaching assistants [secondary school pupils with SEN]?

We Answered:

The best and most overlooked way to improve classroom education of any kind is to introduce the use of boardgames. I have taught for over ten years all over the world, and only when I use boardgames do students voluntarily insist on extending their classes for two, three, even four hours. Not only that, but they then show the most rapid improvement.

Give it a try and you will be amazed. At least you will be helping to break the monopoly that the big textbook publishers have over the education industry.

Where can I find resources to help me teach Shakespeare to a Polish pupil please?

You may want to reevaluate your aptitude for the English language. Grammar and syntax are not your forté.

What type of job besides teaching could a teacher with a certificate in Human Resource Management find?

We Answered:

Speaking as someone who's been a college instructor, subbed in the public schools, and has human resource training, let me say this.

Many human resource departments have people who conduct training. For example, new employee seminars. Sometimes, you may have to update people on policy changes, a situation that has developed that people need to know about so it doesn't happen again. And you may conduct training sessions on benefit policies and options.

In other words, within HR, there's training that's done. So your HR and teaching background would definitely fit in nicely here. Years ago, I interviewed for one of these spots, but at that time, I didn't have my HR Certificate. So I had the teaching background, but not the HR. Yet, they did seriously consider me and did interview me.

And if you wanted to get out of the teaching realm entirely, you could look into jobs like HR Assistant or Generalist. These are the entry-level spots that are basically admin support--Admin Asst in the HR department.
