Sociology help somebody please?We Answered:
Coming from somebody who was very manipulative and lazy during high school I think it is very important you search for the answers or read the chapter so you can have a better understanding of the subject. You are just hurting yourself by having other people do your homework.Debra Said:

Another Anthro Question?We Answered:
The anthropology program at William and Mary is not a bad program to study in. The professors are great, however outside of the CRM (Which does archaeological work mainly for the Tidewater region [Williamsburg, Jamestown, etc]), there are not a lot of opportunities to do undergraduate research (Though one of the professors does do the occasional work in the Caribbean and has undergraduates help with that). Most of the program is also focused on New World archaeology and cultural anthropology, so if that is what you are looking for than you are in luck. I am not sure what jobs would be available outside of universities and the government, though Colonial Williamsburg does employee so anthropologists and archaeologists. However the archaeological wing of Colonial Williamsburg, last time I checked, is temporarily closed due to budget cuts and the state of the economy. The salary of an anthropologist is not very high. The highest you can get paid as an anthropologist is probably through a university, which as a tenured professor would be around $75,000-$90,000 at the highest.
WM has a good international study program located in the Reves Center. They have a number of programs for study abroad every year, some of them go to Spanish speaking countries. But they don't have a program that you are interested in, then they will help you find an outside program that might interest you. Also it is fairly easy to transfer credits from study abroad from an outside program to W&M.
W&M doesn't have any prerequisites for their anthropology program, everything you need to learn, you will learn while you are there. However, from the look of things you are interested in studying Spanish or Hispanic culture. In that case I would recommend you enter the Hispanic studies program or the Latin American Studies program. Hispanic Studies is more language-based and Latin American Studies focuses on Central and South America and is more culture-based. The courses you plan on taking won't help exactly (Except Ap Spanish will be really helpful for both), but they won't hurt either.
William and Mary is a very good school, but it is also an extremely demanding one and is definitely academically oriented. I hope you enjoy pulling all-nighters and spending the occasional weekend studying instead of going to parties because that is what you will be doing. You will be able to have fun and go to parties and stuff, but just not as much as other schools.

Well, it looks like you are a bit stuck :( Someone like you with a Paralegal degree should not be working as a `receptionist` for more than a part time job. I know how hard it is to gain your first bit of experience in a world where everyone already wants you to have experience, but there is a way out of the spiral trap: If you get education in a specific area which you are certain interests you and you get highly qualified in one particular field then people will be inclined to take you as their `apprentice` and make something out of you. Before you choose which field you want to specialize in you must think about it very carefully; once you have made your move and gone into specific education there is no going back and choosing something else. I was lucky. Don`t just jump into it: take some time and think about what SPECIFIC job you want to do and then study for it - Good luck!Brett Said:

what are some good interdisciplinary graduate school programs? We Answered:
You do NOT sound crazy! It sounds like you'd thrive in a public administration grad program. If your GREs are great, and if you can get some outstanding letters of recommendation from your undergraduate professors, your interests in media and public policy as well as your strengths in computer models and statistics would make you quite appealing as a candidate for any MPA program.
The MPA program that is consistently ranked best in the US is through the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. Check out its website, and make sure to check out the faculty and their specializations.
