Check with the Department of Education in California. Every state has certain requirements in order to become a teacher. 9 out 10 times, all you have to do is take a couple of education classes and pass the state teacher's exam.

One college that I know of that has a lot of teachers graduate from it is Eastern Michigan University, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. 1 in 4 teachers in the state of michigan has their degree from EMU. I've been doing alot of research because I want to be a teacher too!
