Don't try to get around the requirement, try to meet the requirement. Retake some of the classes you did poorly in and try to raise your GPA to an acceptable level. If you are not willing to put in the work to meet the basic requirements this early in the game, then maybe you really do need to consider doing something else with your life. Teachers are required to have continuing education throughout their careers. There are other careers in education that do not require the same educational training. For instance, you could become a Teachers' Aide. The pay is lower, but you don't have to put up with the academic vigor either. Good luck!Anna Said:

Okay- now this can go differnt ways...In NJ all i had to do was call the school and arrange a time to observe. Remember you are not the first person to do this and they are most likely very familar with students coming in to get their observation hours. They may ask a few questions but nothing that you cant answer. Some schools may require a letter from your professor or school for security purposes. Other than that other questions may be - what grade? What day were you thinking of coming ? ( never do Mondays it isnt fair to the teacher) My professor always said to be very open try to spread ur hours out and not o everything in one day and try differnt grades - besides you will see the differance in teachers and student behavior. Dont stress it.
It's up to you - you could call or stop by a schools office that way they meet you face to face.

I am credentialed at the JC level in CA and it was a very easy process. I know to be crendentialed now, you need to have at least an Masters degree for a permanent position. They will take you on a temporary basis while you continue to work on your Masters.I know you also have to take an exam to receive your credentials in CA as well. You also have to continue to renew them. Again I lucked out and obtained a Life Time credential
