What are implications to teaching comprehensive sex education programs in schools from a nursing perspective? We Answered:
ok from a nursing perspective, you will be passing out free condoms...maybe. you will be answering alot of questions about whether or not something on "my skin..." is an std. kids might steal some of your lubricant to fill condoms with and throw at unsuspecting victims... ha ha ha. wink.you should most likely have less students saying the forsaken words..."i think i'm pregnant." this will be because they understand sex now and they will either use a condom or not believe what the boy says when he says whatever he needs to say to get up in there. and he will say anything, and get creative too... but now since the girl knows about that and knows how sex is really performed... she wont believe his lies.
what do you have to worry about anyway, you're a nurse, you can handle wipe'n old buts to triage from a gang war... kids are no big deal.
good luck.

Would I need a teaching certificate to design an environmental education program for children? We Answered:
If you are going to teach it for credit or in an accredited school, it will have to meet the criteria set out by that entity. Same for organizations like girl scouts, brownies, 4-H, etc.If you are doing as a public service, probably not; however, if you want the best response to it and to get your message across and them to remember it and incorporate it into their lives, an instructional designer could help you structure your program/message for maximum impact.

Should a real sex education program be taught in our public schools? We Answered:
I am a mom of a 19 year old daughter and I agree with you 100%. I am age 48 and I first had sex at 14, without knowing the first thing about birth control or protection against diseases. I don't understand parents that think if they don't talk about sex with their children then they won't have it. Come on people wake up! My daughter came to me at age 16 and said that she wanted to start taking birth control pills even though she was not yet sexually active. She wanted to be prepared in case the situation came up. I thought this was very mature of her. I took her to her physician and gave her the privacy she needed for a one-on-one conversation with her doctor. I later spoke to her doctor and she told me that she thought it was great that my daughter could talk to me openly about sexual issues. Just because a parent consents to a daughter taking birth control does not mean you are giving permission to have sex. It just shows that you are realistic and are ensuring that your daughter is protected from pregnancy. We also further discussed the need for any partners to use a condom to avoid any STDs, etc. Unfortunately too many teens cannot go to their parents for these issues and I do think that a "real" sex education program should be offered at school.Howard Said:
How can I locate a schematic to set up a pet education program to teach children about pets?We Answered:
lol...this is supposed to be a program for kids?just pull some information off the internet and have an activity for the kids to do. you may want to have some live pets, puppets, visuals, etc..
you could also have the kids give their own presentation about what they think caring for pets means. you could then fill in details from what they said. don't just present to them, get them engaged.
