The TEFL market in Australia is hard to get into. You could be lucky but I think you'd need a higher level qualification than the certificate, as the market in Australia is over qualified.

It would be much easier to get a job somewhere in the far east. Perhaps this would enable you to do some travelling in Australia, as well as giving you the experience which could help to get a job there.

Cambridge and Trinity are the most recognised providers of the TEFL cert - there are many centres where you can do them all over the country and abroad, but they are expensive. I did mine at a university, which I think has helped by looking more impressive on the CV.
