Undergrad English teaching certification, Alternate Route, or MAT?We Answered:
i was in a program called iTEP here in California that was a blended program where I postponed getting my BA and took all my Credential courses while an undergrad. It was total crap because i didn't get along with my supervisor and that resulted in a failing grade. failing student teaching meant that i had wasted 2 years of my life in a program that did not produce a credential, and i also did not have my BA, because of the nature of the program. if i had just gotten bmy BA first, I could have started working as a teacher right away while simultaneously working on my credential.Bottom line, don't mix your credential classes with your BA classes. You might get screwed.

In what context do you want to teach English in Asutralia?Do you want to teach the English language (as in being an "English as a Second Language" or ESL teacher), or do you want to be a highschool English teacher (to teach about literature and creative writing, etc).
The answer depends on the context, but...
If you want to teach in the school system, the minimum qualification accepted here is a bachelor's degree in teaching, or a bachelor's degree with a diploma/masters of education added.
If you want to teach outside the school system, this will really vary.
try the "jobguide" website.
It can give you information specific to the different states, and also links to other useful sites.

Is it plausible to find a job teaching English in Mongolia without TESOL certification? We Answered:
Yes, it is possible. Of course, though, the certificate will help with securing a job more easily and will of course help you in your teaching! You will probably find it easiest to get work in Ulaanbaatar where a full-time job will bring in around 800 USD per month with accommodation provided by the school. There are plenty of small local language schools but also a few modern schools for those in business.
To find work you can try the two weekly English language newspapers in UB: the UB Post and the Mongol Messenger.
