Are there English teaching opportunities for native English speakers in India? We Answered:
If you do not know Hindi or any of the state languages it is going to be hard for you to teach. Especially since there are schools already with teachers who can speak Hindi, so they can give best translations. It is going to be hard to teach a language if the peopel have no idea what you are talking about.Matthew Said:

problem of teaching english to rural students in india? We Answered:
As an English teacher you should be assessing the levels of your students and analysing their learning methods. Colleges here might put learners into a remedial classes to catch up with their peers.I often take classes at college for L2 sudents who are studying other courses such as ITC or Care Courses. Your College should begin to adopt a similar practise of classes for those who wish to improve basic English.
Using English for academic purposes is very specialised it is of no use to the student learning if they have just a basic knowledge without the key skills needed to study at academic level.

What is it like to teach English in Bangalore, INDIA?We Answered:
Hi Andre,I don't the experience of teaching/learning for those exams, but I live in Bangalore and work in the IT industry. Whatever inputs from me are only based on my personal experiences/opinion.
If you want to be a part of an organization, then
a) You can approach the British, American and other English speaking country's consulates/councils, they have language trainings organized.
b) Approach institutes like Brilliant Tutorials, Infozee who train students for GRE/GMAT/TOEFL. They might have openings.
c) If you have formal qualification in the language (a doctorate or masters in literature for instance) then you can apply for an academic role in universities.
d) You could also join corporate training institutes who typicaly coach employees in the BPO industry on voice and accent. Google for these.
If you want to do it on your own, then I'm afraid you might find it challenging because the market for language training in India (especially English) exists, but is very competitive.
If you are considering making a career out of it and relocating to India with this idea, I would advise you to try and land a job in any of the big Indian voice BPO firms like 24/7 Customer, ICICI Onesource, Mphasis, Genpact and the like.
