How do I find resources and/or references for finding a job teaching English overseas in Japan? Help me pleaseWe Answered:
Quite a few of those teaching English in Japan have blogs on eblogger or livejournal. There are groups on facebook as well. Some websites include ithinkimlost.com, farstrider.net, bigdaikon.com, gaijinpot.com.
There are a couple of books on Amazon.com about teaching English in Japan, although be careful as some are outdated. Take a look around and see if you can find them in your local bookstore.
Good luck!

I have a chance to teach English in Mexico. What are some good teaching resources to use if I am chosen? We Answered:
The best and most overlooked way to improve classroom education of any kind is to introduce the use of boardgames. I have taught for over ten years all over the world, and only when I use boardgames do students voluntarily insist on extending their classes for two, three, even four hours. Not only that but they then show the most rapid improvement.Check out the following websites for some useful background info.

Give it a try and you will be amazed. At least you will be helping to break the monopoly that the big textbook publishers have over the education industry.

teaching resources for teaching teachers with intermediate level English to teach using English? We Answered:
I recommend total immersion techniques. They are available online. A good model is Pueblo Ingles ( English Town) in Spain. You might find similar enterprises in your location.Edna Said:
What resources would you recommend to teach bilingual French/English children? We Answered:
These 3 students coming to your school should have some degree of special education as to ensure that they become bilingual, but their education shouldn't separate them from the other students. I would suggest that the students take the same classes as everyone else, but maybe have an extra class or a tutor or something so that their French language skills can improve. For resources, I would recommend language textbooks created for Francophones, with no English in them. Any missing English skills should be bridged just by them going to an English-speaking school.Felix Said:
Best resource guide for teaching english to chinese speaker? We Answered:
I teach English writing to adults in Taiwan. We read well-written feature articles from newspapers such as the Washington Post and International Herald Tribune. These texts are sufficient for a 1-2 hour class. I then explain the meaning, usage and punctuation sentence by sentence. Students find this very helpful. Taiwanese students also enjoyed watching "Friends" as they couldn't understand the jokes on their own. This helps them learn more about informal English conversation.I recommend to use materials that interest her such as reading a novel together.
