Do you have to be Catholic to teach in a Catholic school? We Answered:
Nope. My best friends (husband and wife) taught in a Catholic high school for years. Neither is Catholic. In fact, the husband is atheist. Both also graduated from a Catholic university. As a joke, one of the priests would fling extra incense smoke and holy water at the husband during required masses.

If Pride is a Sin, then why do Christian/Catholic schools teach kids to take PRIDE in their work?We Answered:
That is not the Pride we are talking about. That is just being satisfied with doing a good job. There is nothing wrong with that. The Pride we are talking about is the Pride that will keep you from knowing that you are sinning. For example, if I think it is ok to steal, I am going to justify it and say that it is not a sin because of whatever lie I use to justify my actions. Therefore, I am in a state of Pride which will not allow me to acknowledge that I am wrong. One thinks that I can't possibly be wrong.
It is a difficult sin to overcome because most of us do not want to admit that we are wrong. Then when we do admit it we commit the next sin at the bottom of the list, sloth. We get lazy and do not want to take that sin to Jesus because we are so ashamed and embarrassed that we do not think the Lord could forgive us. Living in a state of Pride and Sloth are both lies because the Truth is that our Lord will be there for us.
I do not want to put you on the spot, but for me those are to sins I have to overcome. I use to be Pro-choice and my Pride made me try to justify it. Then when I came to my senses, I was too Lazy to take it to Christ. Thanks be to God I am over that.
Please pray for me so that I can stay away from the sin of Pride.
Yours in Christ
