There are very few teaching job opportunities in Montreal just now. They have closed down several English Schools in the past few years and so those teachers have first dibs on any jobs that may become available.Look in Alberta they are growing very fast and are building schools rapidly.

I chose it because what other job do you leave around 3:00, get 2 weeks off for Christmas (yes Christmas break, not winter vacation), 10 weeks off in the summer, Spring Break and never have to work a weekend EVER? Sure we make crap money but we can drive our crappy cars to the beach while others drive their Jaguars to the office for 9 hours a day 300 days/year (teachers have to work 180). Also, teaching math is a recession-proof job. It's always in demand. There is also potential to advance like administration.Alfred Said:

Most Egyptians that choose teaching go to faculty for x amount of years. Alot of teachers in some areas only make about $2000.00 per year in Egypt. I know currency there is pounds but just trying to give u an idea in dollar amounts. Good luck and I believe there is a high demand for English Teachers in Egypt but u should only do it to help others, not to seriously make a living there. I know several people who have to stay with family because they cannot afford to live on their own if all they have is their teaching salary to survive on. Cairo is in demand. But I also found that at the American International School in Alexandria is needing American and British English teachers as well.Larry Said:

Think of it this way. How would you like to move in the US to a totally different locale and find a job like what you want? It can be difficult, especially in the area of teaching because of certification and requirements, along with openings that may or may not available. Compound this with relocating to another country and it becomes especially difficult. I would suggest that you check with your local University. Most have something like an International Student Center. There you can perhaps contact exchange students from Brazil, as well as get some resources that will help you do your homework before departing on the venture.
