how does a primary teacher in England get a teaching job in new york city?We Answered:
New York City has in recent years actively recruited teachers from outside the country. You will need to show them your teaching credentials, transcripts of your own grades, and will have to get a green card to work in the USA, along with a social security card. Start with their web site, nycboe.net. Have courage, for you are entering upon one of the world's most notoriously inefficient, muddled and evil bureaucracies.Annie Said:
Can anyone recommend a legitimate recruitment agency for Canadian/North American teachers to teach in England? We Answered:
When teaching in the States with the Visiting International Faculty (www.vifprogram.com) program in the States there were many Canadians in the program. You might also want to consider International School Services (www.iss.edu) and Search Associates (www.search-associates.com). They place teachers all around the world, including England. You could teach anywhere in the world and after getting a few years experience earn far more than you do at home, while getting to travel heaps!
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Teaching jobs?We Answered:
For Ireland try www.educationposts.ie a lot of schools advertise on there, also try to get a subscription fot the Irish Independent newspaper they have an excellent jobs section every Thursday http://www.independent.ie/.You'll find some information on salary scales here http://www.asti.ie/faq/salary.htm.
And your husband will be required to do an exam on the history of education in Ireland but it's not difficult.
Good luck!

If you qualify to be a teacher in England can you move to France and teach there too?We Answered:
Not automatically, you must "qualify" to teach there. Just as in the USA, you cannot cross state lines to teach without proper certification, so crossing country lines is no different. You need to check with the French Education Secretariat and determine what is required to teach in France, not only for academic reasons, but for Work Visa requirements as well. Good luck.
