UK Teaching Application Packet?We Answered:
The contents of the application pack depends on the actual local education authority you are applying to teach with. Visit the education authority website, or the individual school website, and it should give you more information. To teach in schools in the UK you must have qualifications in English and Maths (equivalent to high school graduation), a teaching qualification, usually a 3 year degree, police clearance, and a department of education number.
If you are coming from America you might consider apply for teaching posts through a specialist agency, that places foreign teachers into British schools.

Are you a teacher in England? Please help me with a question!?We Answered:
I would get hold of the British Embassy and ask. Usually it's difficult for a foreigner to find work in overseas schools because the jobs are given to their own citizens first. The UK embassy has a website and should be able to advise you. In some large US cities there are British consulates and they might be able to help. You do need to realize that the British educational system is very different from ours, and they have the same financial and social woes that we do.
