How do I become an english teacher in france?

We Answered:

I definitely recommend what gooddwill advised about the TEFL. There are plenty of languages schools in France, mainly in Paris, and usually pay pretty decent money as well.

I think your main issue will be to get a work permit to work in France, but it's like everything, there are hurdles to go through and if you want it really bad, go for it :)

Hi Josh,

I don't know what your degree is equivalent to in France, but you might try here for jobs in France: http://www.esljobs.com/teach-english/fra…

Good luck!

p.s. You could also try international schools. There can be good jobs there, but there's a lot of competition. If you're already in France, that might help you.

How to go about finding a job teaching English in France?

We Answered:

I hate to disillusion you but it is extremely difficult to find an English teaching job with the kind of experience that you have. Appointments in state schools are made centrally by the French department of education. As it is there are highly qualified and experienced teachers that are jobless in France at the moment because they have left their post for family reasons (for instance having had children or following a partner) and can find no vacancies where they have moved to. Many young graduates are jobless and desperately seeking placements. These days people holding English degrees are two a penny.
Your only chance might, and I do say "might" be if a private school was advertising for an English teacher, and they pay less than the state sector.
If you were to stay in France and look for private tuition, your chances also would be very slim because so many English people have already settled in the French provinces offering that kind of service, and one needs entries into local communities, which obviously you have not got. You could not survive financially on a few private lessons.
You could apply to the Central Bureau for Exchanges in the UK for a post of English assistant in France. They would determine where they sent you and you would have little choice in the matter. The pay is not very good though and it would only be from October to the end of May.

Looking for kinder garden teaching job in Evry,France?

We Answered:

Not to burst your bubble, but I somehow doubt any school is going to want to hire someone who doesn't already speak the language. This is not specific to France, by the way. The idea is to learn the language beforehand. Having said that, you can obtain the names and contact information of such schools by going to the French yellow pages website: http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/trouverlesprof…
Simply type ÉCOLES MATERNELLES where it says "Quoi, Qui", and ÉVRY where it says "Où". Good luck.
