I think your main problem will not be your lack of Spanish but the overall unemployment rate in Puerto Rico. I would not recommend you go there unless you have a secure job beforehand. I know lost of professionals there that loose their jobs almost a year ago and are still struggling to get ANY job, by this I mean not only professional jobs but jobs in stores, fast foods etc.Cassandra Said:

I live in Miami, Florida. Wouldn't recommend Miami, but other parts of Florida are nice for raising children.As for your teaching job, Florida has a high demand for teachers so you should not have any trouble.
Florida is all in all a nice place. The weather is beautiful. Teachers make like 40k/yr.

There is no 1 Most Important job. I would say the governor might be the most important & many of the other political powers as well.Medicine & Medical supplies are 1 of PR's biggest exports. PR has Merck, Glaxo Smith Kline & other pharmacuetical companies, so I would say if you work in pharmacueticals that is an important job.
Rum is a big export. PR is the rum capitol of the world. The Bacardi factory & others are here. Producing rum is a major job also.
Tourism is a big part of PR of course, as well as any caribbean island. So if you work in tourism then I consider that an important job as well.
Music is a big export from PR too. There are so many genres that derive from PR. Most people dont consider a musician as an important job, b/c it may not make the world turn, but there is a need for it & it brings in money, so I say a musician is important also.
Of course the real important jobs that dont get recognized so much are Doctors, nurses, teachers, police, firefighters, etc.

If you are a native speaker e.g. from America and have studied in the American education system then it shouldn't be a problem. There is a huge demand for native English speakers in S. Korea - for example www.eslcafe.com has its own dedicated Korean jobs forums.If there is any doubt, this should be quelled by your taking a course such as the University of Cambridge CELTA or the Trinity Certificate. These are high standard courses offered to teachers of English and internationally recognised.
Some countries, S. Korean and Japan, for example are known to be less stringent in their recruitment benchmarks and will 'settle' for native speaker university graduates more readily.
