Is it easy to get a English teaching job in Cuba?We Answered:
No, not easy at all. There aren't many here who would be willing to employ your sister, I suspect.
Perhaps the English-speaking school ? But I suspect they would be looking for people with experience.

Small towns in Scotland and teaching? We Answered:
If you're looking for isolation you probaby want to think about moving to one of the Northern Islands (Lewis/Orkney) Both require a ferry to the mainland (Aberdeen)If, however, you still want to be fairly central (Glasgow/Edinburgh), there are oodles of little towns within easy commute.
The teaching situation in Scotland isn't great at the minute. Too many teachers and not nearly enough jobs, especially in the Primary teaching sector.
www.tes.co.uk is usually where all the teaching jobs are advertised but I really wouldn't get your hopes up.

US degree for teaching in Scotland? We Answered:
To become a teacher in the UK you need a University Degree in an academic subject and a additional qualification called a PGCE - a Post Graduate Certificate in Education - either a Primary one, or a PGCE in Secondary Education in a Specialist subject.I will warn you now that University degrees in the UK are very, very competitive - and very challenging academically. They're also very expensive - especially if you're an overseas student.
I'll always warn you that it will be difficult to emigrate into the UK without a Professional qualification, especially since you're not an asylum seeker or facing death if your sent back home.

PGCE? PGDE? I need info!!!!!?We Answered:
I doubt there are no biology jobs in Scotland, but there may well be no shortage.Although science teaching in the UK is under-subscribed, biology is the least under-subscribed.
I don't think it matters whether you do the PGCE or the PGDE, although the PGDE site only mentions 'Scottish secondary schools'...perhaps a PGCE would be better?. Either way, you will have qualified teacher status (once you have completed your NQT year).
http://www.tda.gov.uk/Recruit/thetrainin… tells you about PGCE
http://www.teachinginscotland.com/tis/12… tells you about PGCE.
An alternative would be the 'learning on the job' GTP. Very hard work though (the PGCE course is hard work, but at least you are not full-time teaching as well):

Morale? Well, 4 out of 6 newly-qualified teachers leave the profession within their first 3 years. Don't know if that's UK figures or just England, but it certainly tells you something.
It doesn't make you a bad teacher if you don't like teaching rude and unmotivated students (none of use do), but it will make your job a zillion times harder. It's best to face facts: most teaching jobs in the UK are pretty tough and schools which have motivated and pleasant students are likel to be over-subscribed when jobs are advertised.
If you want to find out what is being taught, then look at
http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/seconda…
and
http://curriculum.qca.org.uk/key-stages-…
for keystages 3 and 4.
If I were you I'd go back to Korea for another year (long-distance relationships are very hard) and then decide on a plan of action when you and your girlfriend are both ready to return to the UK.
