Hi,There's a mutual understanding between QTS (Qualified Teaching Status) between English and Wales so your allowed to work in England. If you graduated (PGCE) in Wales and want to teach in England, then you won't have to take the Skills Test in Maths, English and Science.
Melanie, a close personal friend, was French. She came to Warwick University where we both took Early Childhood Studies. While I went to Cambridge to study for a PGCE in Early Years, Melanie took what is dubbed as 'the easy route'. She researched the Skills Tests and she found out if you went to Wales to study you didn't have to take the Skills Test. So she went to Wales to study a PGCE in Early Years and now she is the teacher who I work with.

As I am in the USA, I don't know too much about south Wales, other than you should be able to hit the local music scene and ask the artists and musicians you see who they would recommend for such services... its pretty easy to go to a few shows of artists doing the type of music you want to work alongside and just find out who the best in the business is, then try to hire them for a few hours to show you some pointers and give you some direction on 'how' to learn. you can even offer to help them out as an assistant volunteer to get some experience.I'm not so sure it is the 'ultimate' job, but one of my good friends has succeeded at that already and we are building a new resource website that can really be helpful to you. It hasn't launched with any of the new articles yet that will include things like ' the proper way to wind cables', 'how to change strings properly and how often should(i.e. every 8 songs)' as well as much more about midi routing and redundant racks. We have tons of pictures of celebrity rigs that will be detailed and explained (billy corgan, sheryl crow, rammstein, the cult, kiss, and more).
so hopefully our site will be a good resource for you once we add the new content. for now you can see some pictures of my buddy's previous clients. normally i wouldn't say 'our site our site' but I think it will help you out.

Queensland:Pros: If you like to go out or you have kids then the themeparks would be a major bonus. Brisbane has an artificial beach and nice park lands. Winter is really mild so the weather is warm all year round.
Cons: It gets rather humid and sticky in summer (not many people agree so I maybe biased because I grew up use to dry heat). . Not much else :)
NSW:
Pros: Sydney is a larger city, so there generally will be more work opportunities. More defined summer/winter variations (also less humid). More varied landscape (snow alpines, forests, mountain ranges).
Cons: Worser peak hour traffic in Sydney than Brisbane. Much larger city so the affordable suburbs are further away - middle and inner suburbs are the most expensive of all Australian cities. Higher cost of living but higher income balances it out.
As far as facilities go, I'm not sure what you mean, most schools throughout the country have access to gyms, computers, and science labs. How well maintained they are depends on if you're working at a private or public school.
Most suburbs are well connected via bus and train networks unless you're working in the country. Most people drive, but you should live close to where you work since the major highways will get busy during peak hours. If you're work far away from where you live then it'll be faster/cheaper to use public transport than to fight the traffic on your daily commute.
I know the housing prices in Brisbane (QLD) and Sydney (NSW) are a lot higher than other major cities like Melbourne (Victoria) and Adelaide (South Australia).
Save up A LOT before moving to Australia since interest rates are high (around 8%+ last time I checked) though they are slowly dropping. It's good if you have savings but not so good if you arrive here and realise you need to take out a loan to support yourself.
Anywhere you decide to settle in Australia will be filled with nice people and I'm certain wherever you'll work you'll make friends that'll make you feel right at home.

Is it hard to find jobs.... Well depends where about in the country you are... Some of the big cities especially london it not so bad... more popular areas to live are more difficult... Know this years crop of NQT's have found it hard with people returnning too or staying in proffession due to uncertain economic times... Myself I got a job straight away but this was a few years ago and I had advantage of being a bloke, still shoetage in primary.Interview stage... Just make sure you're upto date on latest changes in education... e.g. Rose report, changes to National Cuirriculm, and colleges will always like people whjo have done some volunteering in schools....
Hope that is of use... Great career and I love it, but seen lots of people leave in the last few years due to work load etc
