Risky sounding job?

We Answered:

It is a scam.

The way it works is that this "company" (not real customers) will make "sales deposits" into your account based off of bad checks and/or credit cards. You will take your ATM card and withdraw the money, and send it to them via Western Union. This is why you need an account with an ATM card, and online access - you go online and use Western Union online to send the money.

When the credit card customer gets the bill with the bad charges on it a month later, they dispute the charge... 30-60 days later, you get the money withdrawn from YOUR account (because it was sent there).

In the end, YOU have sent money from YOUR account via Western Union, which is untraceable. And the bank holds YOU responsible for the overdrawn bank account - to the tune of 1000's of dollars.

Non-academic/university careers?

We Answered:

You may think about a career in engineering if you have an interest in mechanical things. Engineering requires a lot of higher math and science skills. If you want to do mechanics then you could go to trade school and get a certificate in engine repair or mechanics. There are other vocational programs that you might consider. It is important to do your best in school. Good grades can get you into college. Even though you may be bored by some of your classes, good grades can give you options that you might not otherwise have. You still have several years of high school to complete. Check with your guidance counselor and see if there are aptitude or preferences tests you can take. They are available at most colleges but I am not sure if they are available in high schools. It could provide some guidance based upon your preferences or answers. There are no right or wrong answers to the questions since they are based upon your preferences. These tests are also available on line. I don't remember their website but one company that does a lot of testing is called MAPP Assessment. There is also a book called "What Color Is Your Parachute" that could help you. People change considerably at your age. It is still quite a while before you need to make a career decision. By taking the higher math and science classes you will be better prepared to go in any direction you wish when you complete high school.
