Are Catholics usually Liberal on Economic issues because of the Widow's Mite?We Answered:
The Catholic Church believes that powerful institutions should confiscate the wealth and income of their subjects because this is the business the Catholic Church has conducted for well over one thousand years. The Catholic Church may hold the most wealth in the world, yet Jesus warned us of this when he said "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:24 KJV
Also, cutting a check doesn't absolve the Catholic Church's homosexual pedophile sins. The entire church played a role in covering up the crimes of thousands of pedophile priests (most of whom are homosexuals).
Until the church removes homosexuals from the priesthood and turns over evidence of criminal pedophile behavior of priests, the church will hold no moral authority whatsoever and will continue to lose millions of members. The Church has no right to aid and abet criminal pedophile child rapists or to decide who should not be prosecuted for their crimes in the United States or any other country.

Gated communities in South Africa and Jobs?We Answered:
I live in a gated community in Pretoria.I would say that you can try to go to Capetown, Pretoria or Johannesburg. I don't really know a lot about KZN. You'll get alot of white people on the Northern Suburbs of Pretoria and North of Johannesburg. If you have a map, check out the areas Wonderboom, Villiera, Waverley, Rietfontein, Mountain View, Centurion, Menlyn, Revonia, Sandton, Midrand. If you want a map just email me and ask. Well I don't have a picture but imagine this, 30 to 100 (if not more) houses surrounded by a 6foot wall with electric fence. Within the security complex you'll find CCTV cameras and a few security guards patrolling the area. The amount of security you want depends on what security complex you live in and where it is located. The houses are usually 1/2/3 bedroom houses and depending on the security complex you'll have a garden as well (which I would recommend). Some of the security complexes have houses which are packed against each other with a joint wall but I would not recommend getting such a place because the builders would sometimes place the living room of your neighbor against your main bedroom which I think is 'totally crap'.
So yes there are guards, electric fences and 6foot walls. Since you're a foreigner I would recommend searching for a job at the english schools of South Africa since you'll have problem at Afrikaans schools. I think you can contact the Education department of South Africa for a list of school names or try searching on the web.
Try recruiting agencies like www.pnet.co.za and submit your CV. I don't really know if you'll get a job through recruiters, maybe you must use the education department but I don't know. Or you can contact the schools directly and ask if they need teachers.
Email if you want anymore info. Just know that even though Pretoria and Joburg has the most jobs and pays the most, they also has the most crimes. Your best bet might be Capetown with less crime and still a lot of jobs (and great for tourism (looks much cleaner)).
Oh yeah, also what Tony J said was true, most people don't live in gated communities. Of all my friends I am the only one living in a security complex. Most of us live in houses (which people of obroad think is huge) made of brick. The houses have a garden, walls around with railings against the windows (don't know the name for this).

I would like to teach English in Japan but why is it so difficult for an Asian to get an ESL job in Japan? We Answered:
They are probably worried about accent- many schools in asia want Canadian/Australian/American or British English-First language speakers because they believe that the english learning student will be able to mimic the foreign accent better. They might also be worried about the standard of English you have had in your education- they sadly lump all Asian schools together and deem them not as good as foreign schools- which is definitely not the case!I would suggest looking into obtaining a TESL [or TESOL= Teaching English as a Second Language] certificate if you do not have one already, or perhaps look in to a course in linguistics- this would throw the accent possibility out.
Another possibility is the schools want a teacher they think speaks like an English-speaker does in terms of slang, contractions and grammatical errors... that might sound odd, but most native English speakers rarely speak "perfect" english, while people who learn English as a second language tend to commit less mistakes, use longer words and speak more formally. Schools now in Asia [I'm speaking mostly about Hong Kong] feel that their own teachers can teach the language mechanics (grammar etc.) but they want a English native speaker to handle the mannerisms part, which is starting to get more valued.
From your writing, I would say you have learned English fairly well, and the language in your question would pretty much match the language used by most people where I live [Vancouver, Canada]- however, there is a large percentage of Asian people here and I am half Chinese myself- it is my caucasian last name from my father that makes me a sought after ESL teacher.
I hope you don't give up! Keep trying- have you actually talked to the principals of the schools in person? That might demonstrate your language skills. Until then, I guess you could tutor ;) Best wishes!

Can I get a job as an English teacher in South Korea with TESOL certificate? We Answered:
Absolutely you can get a job in South Korea. Your certification is current, so your only obstacle now is to find a job placement. Some schools may give preference to native English speakers, but if you have mastered it, there should be no problem with being able to secure a job.
