How to go about looking for a job in South Korea? We Answered:
I've found all my jobs on Dave's ESL Cafe website. They have forums and such where people can recommend work. I have worked at Kang's English Hagwon in the past and it is the greatest job ever. 3pm-8pm M-F and they hook you up with a place to stay and a food stipend. All you do is supplement classes. I left because I have a doctoral degree in TESOL and am now teaching at a university in Seoul. But it was fun for a year until I found this new job.Best of luck!

is their any jobs in south korea aside from teaching english? We Answered:
It depends on where you are from and what your qualifications are. If you are from one of the 7 native English speaking countries with a regular BA degree, you'd be looking at English teaching as your position. If you have Computer programming, or an Engineering degree, you could apply at Samsung or LG. When I taught English at LG I met alot of German, and Indian research engineers. Most of the international companies here CEO's are foreigners by the way. ( I taught at a few of those, and met the prez's) If you are from the middle east or southeast Asia with just high school education, you'd be looking at a blue collar labor job. There's also acting and modeling, depending on how you look of course.Debbie Said:
as a liberian in south korea with a bsc can i get a teaching job?We Answered:
There is no reason why you cannot get a teaching job as long as you have the BSC. However, give your liberian nationality you may find a degree of discrimination - in Korea they like the English teachers to white and american/canadian/english. Your best bet of a job is in a private language academy. You need to find an agency either in Korea or in the country you reside which will organise a placement and arrange terms for you. In Korea they are not big on paperwork and cvs and would rather use an agency to find English teachers. If your English is perfect then I recommend a lie. Tell them you were born in Liberia but grew up or spent a lot of time in the States or in England - the Koreans have very little experience of foreign accents and will probably not question it. If they think you have a strong connection with America they are much more likely to hire you and look beyond your nationality. It may not be fair, but it is true.

How can I find a non teaching job in Seoul, South Korea? We Answered:
I would hardly recommend, you go directly to their recruiting area at each web-page, Samsung, Sony, Mitsubishi, must of the electronic top 500 fortune companies have a place in their web where you can post your resume and e-mail, 2 of my friends have been successful through this process, but I need to be honest, they give preference to Korean (perfectly normal).Pedro Said:
Applying for teaching jobs in South Korea: blonde or brunette? We Answered:
Although the first two answers make sense. You should keep in mind that most Koreans are very particular about appearance. Looks really matter to them, big time. The photos you will send will also be a part of your application. They might even choose an applicant based on her/his looks alone. The credentials secondary. So if you send a photo with blond hair and show up sporting a darker one, it may create a conflict. Or worse, yes you might get fired right there and then. The color wouldn't matter too much (some employers prefer blond, others dark-haired) As long as you show up with the same color as the photo you sent with the application.
