People telling you that its competitive don't know anything!!! You can just walk into most language schools in Spain and talk to them and they'll give you a job. Just have to find the right school that'll give you good hours and pays well.Its so much fun too, I LOVE teaching english there!!

Greecethere are certain options for a qualified english teacher:
1) teaching in a private school, where you could teach students of all ages
2) teaching on an IB (International Baccalaureate) school. (private schools too). the IB is offered on the last two grades. check out the IBO website for more info
3) teaching on a private english speaking school like St.Catherine, Campion, American Community School. where you could also serve as an elementary school teacher. Google those schools
4) volunteer work. contact various agencies specialized on that.

Red Tape
Apply at the INEM office for a N.I.D., a requirement for signing a work contract. Once you have a contract you must apply for a N.I.E. (Número de Identicación de Extranjero) or identity number for foreigners at the Ministerio del Interior (also known as the PolicÃa). With your NIE and Permiso de trabajo, which is a letter from your boss saying that you are employed there, you can apply for a Tarjeta de Seguridad Social (a social security card), which entitles you to healthcare.
