You could hook your computer up to your tv.. (with a cheap attachment) and they could watch and sing them..just do searches on youtube, you can find a lot of kids songs... be specific in your searches.

That sounds fun, kudos to your friend!!!I'm not a teacher, but I did grow up as an American in Asia...
I would suggest looking at websites first of all for research e.g. Amazon and a website called ChinaSprout that has resources on teaching Asian languages to children (www.chinasprout.com).
Another thing to do is to dress up as someone Chinese and teach the kids about the food and culture - bring in something Chinese to show them. Or, take them on a "trip" and pretend to take them on an airplane or to Chinatown or out to eat at a Chinese restaurant and teach them a few basic phrases in Chinese. Use plenty of visuals, pictures and objects, and the more the kids can act things out, the better.
The song idea is great, too, for the poster who suggested that.
