Sometimes the way kids talk is very contagious. I catch my self saying "ball-ball" instead of "ball" all the time. Or "nanner" instead of "banana".It's not intentional for me. I never have a conversation with her that way, and I stop when I catch myself doing it and then repeat the correct word to my daughter. It just sometimes happens when I hear my 2-year-old repeat her word over and over all day long, which she has a tendency to do.

forcing anything on a child is counterproductive. at 18 months expecting him to say a few mamas and dadas and no, and drink is fine, but its not until closer to 2 that they start expanding their vocabulary. With a lot of communication right from the start. I always talk to them when we're out shopping or doing anything, really.I also avoid using "baby" words (except for baba=bottle). Even though they'll have a hard time saying bigger words, i don't use baby talk with them.
Then when they try to say the word I repeat it for them and they usually repeat it back in a cute way...
Reading books is a great way to learn to. And it helps them relax.

I don't know this particular toy, but if it is for 6 and up it probably doesn't do a lot with multipliction. The description says it has only 20 activities. I'd look for on line sites and other multiplication teaching strategies.Deanna Said:

I don't think that it will ever cause harm to teach our children caution because there are way too many dying. A person can teach caution and social skills at the same time. Perhaps the method of teaching needs to be changed, but teaching them safety should always remain.Daniel Said:
