Whar would be a good idea for a memoir? We Answered:
your shining moment would be good. For example, when you were at your best achieving something, that would be cool to do, and I would read it.

DidUever take a creative writing class from a WELL-KNOWN author?Did U enjoy/class??We Answered:
I did once take a one day course with a well known fantasy writer. It was very basic and did not teach much that was new to me. I suppose what you get from such a class depends on how experienced you are at the time and how good a teacher the author proves to be. Common sense really, but true. Many writers cash in on their names as another source of income, who can blame them?Lucille Said:

Please critique this excerpt?We Answered:
You really need to proofread your own work before asking for critiques. A critique is something you ask for in a few weeks after you have finished, not half an hour after you start.Darryl Said:
What do you think of this sample of my writing??? (kinda long)? We Answered:
Awesome writing. Is your dad in the Army? If he is, this is really personal stuff, if he's not then you have a great ability to put yourself in the shoes of other people. It actually is really beautiful writing though. Could hit home for some. The only things I would tell you to watch for, though, is your spelling and grammar.=] Keep writing!

I had to write a memoir for English(I'll explain what that is in the description.) Is this good?We Answered:
Overall its very good and is well structured and has a strong ending. You use evocative imagery to conjure up an effective picture with the reader and the moral comes through clearly. The only suggestion that I would make is that you vary your sentence structure a little more, as a lot of sentences tend to begin with 'I'. For example, instead of saying..."I tried to desperately to look into his eyes bit all I saw was emptiness- he was somewhere far from there. I could hear gargling in his wide open mouth as his body shook as if he was having a seizure. I tried saying his name in hope of a response but I got no answer. I could hear the voices of his close friends surrounding him. He wouldn’t be okay, nothing would."
...you could say:
"His eyes were an empty abyss, void of any flicker or spark of recognition as i stared desperately into them, and the realization dawned on me with a heavy thud that he was somewhere far from there. A low gargling sound emanated so sinisterly from his gaping mouth and his body convulsed like a goldfish out of water fighting for air, as if he was having a seizure. I tried saying his name in hope of a response but I got no answer. The voices of his close friends stung my ears as they surrounded him. He wouldn’t be okay, nothing would."
This variety just gives it a little bit more sparkle I think. I hope this helps you. But really, your writing is good, and you have put together a good story.
