How can a elementary teacher also teach middle school math?We Answered:
I got a degree in education, with emphasis in elementary education. My major was fine arts and my minor was math/social studies. My teaching certificate stated that I was qualified to teach K-8 9 (all subjects), and 9th grade Fine Arts.
Check with your state, but I think you can get a minor in math and that will transfer to your credentials.

Do you need to be a math genius to teach middle school math?We Answered:
No, in fact many middle school teachers have poor math skills and no interest in improving them. You'll need calculus, but you don't need to teach it, so as long as you're solid in the others you should be OK. And it will be nice to have a teacher who enjoys math - none of mine did before high school.Sergio Said:

I was asked during an interview for a middle school math job what teaching styles I use? How should I answer? We Answered:
Have you ever taught? Explain what you do when you teach - what is your style, what is your manner of teaching. Do you lecture? Do you have the students do group activities and you are a monitor or facilitator? That's the kind of stuff they are looking for. They want to know what you are going to do in the classroom.Nathaniel Said:

In CA, you need a single subject credential in Mathematics to teach in middle or high school. It is a separate credential from a multiple subject teaching credential.
In order to be admitted to a single subject credential program you will have to pass your CSET in Math.
