How do I obtain a teaching license to teach Spanish in Indiana?

We Answered:

Check Indiana's official state government web site and look for "licensing". My guess is you'd need to have a Bachelor's degree to teach in a public school, although private schools may not require that.

Middle School Spanish?

We Answered:

I think your list is good, but you need to work around a situation and make them interact, create an environment to buy, sale, ask for directions, etc. , and introduce new words into the situation, make them speak and repeat. it worked for me
Good luck

Charlotte Said:

for teaching foreign languages is middle school?

We Answered:

- younger children learn languages easier

- "research has shown that early exposure to a second language increases divergent thinking strategies, helping not only in language-related tasks, but also in areas such as math. Children early on have different ways of expressing themselves, such that they better understand there is more than one way to look at a problem and that there is more than one solution."

Elsie Said:

what degree do i need to teach middle school spanish in oklahoma?

We Answered:

I am a former Spanish teacher in Florida and I think that all states have the same basic requirements to teach in a public school. I went to college and completed 2 years of general classes and received an Associates Degree. Then, I applied to the College of Education at the University and once accepted, met with a student advisor who gave me a list of ALL classes needed to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Language Education. I completed those courses and also had to take the Subject Area Exam for Spanish as well as the Teaching Exam. In our state, you are certified K-12 to teach your specific language. I would contact the University of Tulsa and ask them specifically what the requirements are. Another option would be to go onto the public school website for your area and it should list requirements for teachers in each subject area.
