Do you agree with schools now teaching 4th graders in español with limited English taught ?

We Answered:

You left out the most important part, this is a CHOICE the parents make for the children to become bi-lingual.

"The Hurst-Euless-Bedford school district is one of only a few in the state and country to offer elementary school parents the option of putting their children through school in Spanish, including math, science, reading and social studies lessons."

Too bad your parents didn't make better choices in your life, maybe you wouldn't be so dishonest and sneaky.

Help?Computer Science or Physical education?

We Answered:

You should choose computer science. You may be assured that you will have employment with a very good salary. I have nothing against physical education if is what you want to do. The best of luck.

Byron Said:

Do you think that your school education adequately prepared you for real life?

We Answered:

It DOES... prepares you to get a good job - so those Science, English and Maths lessons will come in handy! ( Although I don't really see the point in History.) With English, rightly you can learn to read and write, and with maths, I assure you, it's good to know if you have the right amount of change!

Physical Education for three and four year old children?

We Answered:

I agree -it is not developmentally appropriate for this age!
I suspect the PE teacher simply does not know what to do with this age and if he continues with these kinds of activities, he'll soon be "in charge" of all the behavior problems that will develop. :)

There are tons of fun activities that you can do with kids this age in a PE class ; speak with the Lead Teacher and see if she will work with you on this. You might even suggest that you take over the PE requirement by planning and implementing it yourself. (First check to see if this is Ok with the program guidelines.)

Our Head Start classes have outdoor play time in their own playground which has to meet pretty strict federal guidelines in terms. Frankly, I have never heard of the elementary PE teacher teaching the HS classes.

Bonnie Said:

Do you think public school physical education should be centered around teaching physical wellness or sports?

We Answered:

I think it should do both. Yeah, yeah I know split the difference.

The first part of the class should be spent doing actual exercises, stretching, basic wellness. 30 minutes of good activity.

The second part of the class should be focusing on learning to play a variety of different sports. From tennis to basketball to football to pingpong. Getting a wide exposure enables people to participate throughout live and into adulthood.
