The B.Ed. and Postgraduate Diploma in Education (primary) are the recognised qualifications.If you are teaching in a state school, you will also require state certification. State schools pay a lot more but jobs are tough to get.
There are a lot of areas of the country with no private schools.
Then you will also need a visa. To get this you will need a firm job offer.

Anyone with a valid Bachelor degree is eligible to teach in the USA. What the issue is the following:1) Each state of the USA has different requirements and therefore you will have to submit your credentials to the appropriate state agency.
2) Also, you will have to be Certified & Licensed by the state you choose to teach in. Most US universities will provide classes for those with Bachelor degree for Certification & Licensing....this is beyond the Bachelor degree...it can take up to two years beyond the Bachelor degree to get fully certified & licensed in the particular state you choose.

It is so fun to teach literacy to that age group. As a Literacy teacher I would suggest that building prior knowledge is really important at this age. So lots of pre-reading discussion and predicting to engage the students. Some students will constantly look to you for approval because they are still building confidence like is that right word or did I say that right... Ask questions that have the students go back to the book and questions that are more than yes or noSo good luck !!!
